Editing for legal scholarship and access

Parth Singh served as a staff editor of the Columbia Human Rights Law Review and A Jailhouse Lawyer’s Manual in 2024–2025.

The Human Rights Law Review

The Review publishes scholarship on domestic and international human-rights questions. Parth’s appointment appears in the institutional masthead for the 2024–2025 editorial team, during his LL.M. year.

A Jailhouse Lawyer’s Manual

The Manual provides legal information for people in prison and their supporters. The 2025 Immigration and Consular Access Supplement carries both the HRLR and JLM mastheads, listing Parth among staff editors.

Scholarship and legal access

The two publications address different audiences. A scholarly journal develops legal debate; a practical manual makes legal information usable by readers navigating institutions. The staff-editor role belongs to the account of Parth’s academic participation.

Within the Columbia year

Editing ran alongside advanced study, academic-credit research assistance and clinic work. His separately authored articles are listed in the research archive under their own titles and author credits.
